Röntgen's birthplace as model

In a letter to the mayor of Lennep Wilhelm C. Röntgen points to the model of his birthplace home that his father had built. Röngen kept this model his whole life. Today it is kept in the Deutsches Röntgenmuseum in Remscheid (German X-Ray Museum).

The model consists of several parts and it shows how the house was structured around 1840. Moreover, it reveals the extraordinary craftsmanship of the merchant and cloth manufacturer Friedrich Conrad Röntgen which is a legacy that his son Wilhelm Conrad knew how to apply as a brilliant experimental physicist and accurate analyzer.
